Serenity: Leaves on the Wind 1-6

  1. I do love getting with my favorite outlaws. I did read this a little back words so this should be the starting point for those who want to read these comics. 2. With them being hunted by the Alliance, sought out by the New Resistance, and the need for medical attention. Things get just as bad as they always are for our crew. Mad at Jayne. 3. Well here we have the return of characters we last saw not involved with our crew in a good way. Jayne is optimistic about Mal but you know there is going to be trouble just from that. 4. I love that so much is being added to the story that gives even more life to my favorite characters. 5. Mal, Jayne, and River go to make a daring rescue at the facility she was held. What none of them know is that they have been played. But our Mal never leaves anything to chance and is prepared. 6. Saved the best for last.

Serenity: Float Out

Hoben Washburn was definitely one of my favorite characters and I miss him. If there were to be another movie I would not get to hear crazy sayings or enjoy his dinosaur fights. This was a short but nice tribute to a character that was very well liked. I could see Wash in each of those situations and know that he would act just that way. If you liked this character than you will enjoy this little tribute.

Interview with the Vampire: Claudia’s Story

I got this because I am a big fan of the Vampire Chronicles and look for anything that can expand on their stories. This fleshed out Claudia’s story a lot more so that you have more of an understanding of why she was as she was. The art work is nice and I like the way it was done in black and white. It did make Louis appear to be nothing more than a pawn to Claudia after she became an adult in a child’s body.

I think any Anne Rice fan will enjoy this.

I totally have a thing for Harry Dresden and I am happy to read about him in any medium I can find him. This is a really nice new story that gives you a chance to become better acquainted with Molly Carpenter and what she is doing with Dresden as his apprentice. We also get to see the character of Marcone who does not appear a lot though he is mentioned quite often in any number of novels.

Something is killing innocent people and the police, Karrin Murphy, calls in Dresden because it is obvious that whatever it is its not human. While Harry has never seen anything like it before he is ready to stop it no matter what it takes.

This does not have a lot of plot, it is simple and straight forward, which is perfect for a graphic novel. Good story told in minimal space with decent characters, no need for major development, some fun facts.

Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Circus of the Damned

Another great set of graphic novels based on the book. Anita this time is contending with a master vampire that is leading others in a feeding frenzy. Victims have been found with multiple bites which would seem to keep them from being turned. There is someone trying to take the city from Jean-Claude and Anita seems to be the key. To top things off Richard is making his move on Anita even though Jean-Claude told him to stay away. Lots of things going on that cannot help but keep your attention and make you run through it.

I wish there were more because this condensed version with actual art work makes for a fun read.

I love the Alien movies and was really interested to see how things would be handled in this form. It is done very well and makes for a good read. The art work is nicely done and brings the people as well as the aliens to life in a vivid way. The characters were all new but based on those from the second movie except Ripley who they could not do without. Each story is a self-contained book but still feeds into the next. You must read it to appreciate it and if you are an Aliens fan or simply a fan space creatures or science fiction, then it is a must read. No need to even give a little breakdown, its aliens, you know what is going to happen.

Reading this when I did was a good way to remind myself what Anita was like before she started dealing with the monsters on a personal level. This was my love/hate phase with Anita because she was such an extremely judgmental, holier-than-thou piece of work when she was younger. But at the same time she was a hard ass who knew enough to be afraid of what went bump in the night, since she knew it was real. The graphic novel just gave another dimension to the world that she lives in.

Anita as always has more going on than she can deal with alone. She has been asked to raise a zombie which will require a human sacrifice and refuses. She is also approached by Dominga Salvador to come and help her with a project she has with zombies, and the Senora does not like to be turned down. There is a killer zombie running around the city killing families and the police need Anita to help them capture and/or destroy it. Not to mention the fact that the Master of the City wishes to speak with her about her future. What’s a girl to do when she is this popular?

I loved this because the art work made it come alive so much more and has given me a visual to work with when I read the novels. I would recommend it to fans of the series or anyone who just wants to be entertained.

The graphic novel did a great job of condensing the original novel. The art work is fantastic and gives a total sense of who the characters are. This is all well before Anita had found that monsters come in all varieties, and not just those with fangs and claws. A must have for Anita fans. Great visual for those who have read the novel and enjoy it.

I totally enjoyed this graphic novel based on one of my favorite series. The story follows the novel but gives you that visuals that you always had to supply yourself. If you enjoy the Anita Blake series then you will definitely want to give the graphic novels a look. They hit the mark very well on their renditions of the characters. Going to keep reading them as long as they have them.

Definitely worth taking the time for if you are a fan of Buffy! This is a really good way to continue the story and introduce a new dimension of the Buffyverse. It can be an introduction for those who have never seen the show or just a great way to catch up with the characters. Loved it!
