Me and My Ghoulfriends (Larue Donavan #1)
Larue Donavan can see and speak to ghosts, this is a talent that does not however make enough money to support herself on. Larue is also the owner and operator of the Book Nook, a bookstore that does decent business in her small southern town. She spends a great deal of time with her best friend Mindy who knows she sees ghosts and thinks its pretty cool. The only thing missing in her life is love and that may change with the arrival of Callahan Weiss who opens a coffee shop, Full Cup, right next door to her and is a very attractive man.
The only fly in the ointment is Brianna, a man-eater who has also set her sights on Callahan and usually gets what she wants. Larue does not feel she can compete and when it seems that Callahan has fallen for Brianna and her slutty ways she decides to give up, that is until her ghostly friends push her to try harder. Things are not what they seem and Larue will have to do things she never would have to make them right again.
I liked Larue from the beginning but she seemed a little dense a good deal of the time. I liked the other characters as well, especially the ghosts who were a hoot with some of their antics. The story was sweet with a little suspense thrown in. I think that Rose Pressey fans will definitely like it.
